Experiential Learning Experience for Rangli School Student

RIS is Synonymous with quality education and a benchmark for co-curricular activities. Every day we are planning something new for our Rangolians to make them a responsible citizen.

We always encourage learning by doing. In this context, we came up with an idea of “Experiential Learning”. Experiential learning is a process through which a student develops knowledge, skills, and values from direct experiences. It is the process where knowledge is created through the transformation of experience. The project is designed for students of VI to VIII.

Our project “Experiential learning “commenced with a visit to a vegetable market of Sec 21, on 23rd Feb 2017 wherein they have been allocated one stall each and have sold vegetables from 4.30 pm to 7.30 pm. Students were involved in weighing, sorting and money collection process. It was a real world learning which would enhance their inter-personals, self-esteem and how to be a responsible citizen.

After a wonderful learning experience in a vegetable market our Rangolians with a lot of enthusiasm, Started their second day project visit to Vishal Super Market & Vidyarthi Stationary. There they had a wonderful time experiencing about Barcode system, Barcode printing, Pasting of Bar Codes and how the total scenario is operating. When they went to Vidyarathi Stationary they completed the task of selling books, notebooks, stationary items, communicating with customers. It was worth a million dollar experience which is Rangolians have gathered.

The third day of our experiential learning was again a package of excitement, fun and above all knowledge based learning. On 26th Feb (Sunday) students have visited D-Mart- Sec 26 and worked there for more than 2 hours during rush hours. In D-Mart, they were assigned tasks like helping the customers in packing the goods, detecting barcode while billing, arranging the goods at proper places and monitoring the customers. They also got to know about the importance of the expiry dates of the eatables and how these eatables are disposed of after the prescribed date.
